The Daniel Defense M4A1 Upper Receiver is a complete AR upper receiver designed for use with AR platform rifles. It features a 14.5 inch cold hammer forged barrel with a permanently attached flash suppressor bringing overall barrel length to 16 inches and uses a carbine length gas system with a 1:7 twist rate. This Daniel Defense M4A1 Upper Receiver includes the M4A1 Rail Interface System II, a two piece free floating rail used in military SOPMOD configurations.

The Daniel Defense M4A1 Upper Receiver incorporates a bolt up rail system secured with six grade 8 bolts, leaving the barrel free floating. The rail supports accessory mounting without contacting the barrel, and it allows partial disassembly for maintenance. It is chambered in 223 Remington and 5.56 NATO and finished in flat dark earth. This complete upper receiver includes an M16 profile bolt carrier group and is configured for AR rifle platforms.
