About Fits Glock 43

Glock 43 Magazine: OEM 6-Round, Z-Series Extended, and Aftermarket Options

A Glock 43 magazine is a single-stack, polymer-bodied ammunition feeding device that holds 6 rounds of 9x19mm and inserts into the subcompact Glock 43 grip. The Glock 43 is the smallest 9mm single-stack Glock pistol with a 3.39-inch (86 mm) barrel and a 1.06-inch (27 mm) frame width. The OEM Glock 43 magazine weighs 1.76 oz (50 g) empty. TactaBlue stocks Glock 43 magazines from Glock OEM and Shield Arms Z-Series in standard and extended configurations, along with Z-Series mag catches and magazine extensions.

The Glock 43 magazine is compatible with the Glock 43 and the Glock 43X (the G43 magazine sits shorter in the G43X grip). The Glock 43 magazine does not fit the Glock 48 because the G48 uses the wider Slimline magazine well. The G43 uses a narrower single-stack magazine well that does not accept G43X/G48 Slimline magazines.

Glock 43 OEM Extended Magazine

The Glock G43 OEM extended magazine adds a +1 base plate extension that increases capacity from 6 to 7 rounds. The extended magazine uses the same single-stack body as the 6-round magazine with a longer floor plate that adds 0.25 inches (6 mm) of grip length. The extended magazine provides a pinky rest for shooters who cannot fully grip the short G43 frame.

Shield Arms Z-Series Magazines for Glock 43

Z9 Magazine for Glock 43

The Shield Arms Z9 magazine is a 9-round all-metal magazine that increases Glock 43 capacity by 50% over the OEM 6-round magazine. The Z9 uses a flush-fit design that does not extend below the factory grip length. The Z9 achieves the 9-round capacity through an optimized internal geometry that stacks cartridges more efficiently than the OEM single-stack design. The Z9 requires a Z-Series mag catch for reliable retention.

Z8 Magazine for Glock 43

The Shield Arms Z8 magazine is an 8-round all-metal magazine that provides a 2-round capacity increase over the OEM 6-round magazine in a flush-fit design. The Z8 provides a lower-cost entry point than the Z9 while maintaining the flush-fit profile.

Z9 Magazine Combos and Starter Kit

Shield Arms offers 6 Z9 Magazine Combo configurations and a Z9 Starter Kit that bundle Z9 magazines with Z-Series mag catches at reduced pricing. Combo packs include 2 to 3 Z9 magazines with 1 or 2 mag catches. The Z9 Starter Kit includes 1 Z9 magazine and 1 Z-Series mag catch for first-time Z-Series buyers.

Z-Series Dual Mag Kit

The Z-Series Dual Mag Kit includes 2 Z9 magazines for shooters who already have a Z-Series mag catch installed.

Z-Series Mag Catches for Glock 43

Premium Z-Series Mag Catch

The Premium Z-Series Mag Catch for Glock 43 is machined from steel and provides reliable retention for the all-metal Z9 and Z8 magazines. The factory polymer mag catch does not provide adequate retention for all-metal magazines. The Premium mag catch is required for reliable Z-Series magazine function.

Standard Z-Series Mag Catch

The Standard Z-Series Mag Catch provides the same steel construction as the Premium version at a lower price point with a different surface finish.

Z-Series Magazine Extensions for Glock 43

Z9 +3 Mag Extension

The Z9 +3 mag extension adds 3 rounds to the Z9 magazine for a total capacity of 12 rounds in the Glock 43 platform. The +3 extension extends approximately 0.75 inches (19 mm) below the grip.

Z9 +1 Mag Extension

The Z9 +1 mag extension adds 1 round to the Z9 magazine for a total capacity of 10 rounds with minimal grip extension.

Glock 43 Magazine Selection Guide

Select a Glock 43 magazine based on 3 factors: desired capacity, willingness to replace the mag catch, and concealment requirements. The OEM 6-round magazine and +1 extended magazine work with the factory polymer mag catch. The Shield Arms Z9 and Z8 magazines require a Z-Series steel mag catch. The Z9 provides the highest flush-fit capacity at 9 rounds.
