About Fits Glock 30

Glock 30 Magazine Extension: Base Pads and Capacity Upgrades for the Subcompact .45 ACP

A Glock 30 magazine extension is an aftermarket base pad that replaces the factory floor plate on a Glock 30 magazine to increase capacity, grip length, or both. The Glock 30 is a subcompact .45 ACP pistol with a standard magazine capacity of 10 rounds. Magazine extensions add +2 to +4 rounds to the standard capacity. TactaBlue stocks Glock 30 magazine extensions from XTech Tactical, Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI), and Pearce Grip.

How Does a Mag Extension Impact the Firearm

A magazine extension impacts the Glock 30 in 3 measurable ways: increased ammunition capacity, faster reload speed through a larger base pad surface, and improved grip control from additional grip length. Each benefit addresses a specific limitation of the subcompact .45 ACP platform.

Mag Extensions Add Capacity With Balanced Size

A Glock 30 magazine extension increases capacity from 10 rounds to 12 or 14 rounds of .45 ACP while adding 0.25 to 1.0 inches (6 to 25 mm) of grip length. The .45 ACP cartridge (case diameter: 12.09mm) is physically larger than 9mm (case diameter: 9.93mm), which means each additional round adds more length to the magazine than a 9mm extension of the same round count. A +2 extension on the Glock 30 provides 12 rounds, which matches the Glock 21 13-round capacity minus one round.

Magazine Extensions Enable Faster Reloads

A Glock 30 magazine extension increases the base pad surface area for a more positive grip during magazine insertion. The larger base pad provides a wider target for the support hand to guide the magazine into the magwell during speed reloads. The extended floor plate also prevents the magazine from rocking during insertion.

Mag Extensions Improve Handling and Control

The Glock 30 subcompact frame measures 4.80 inches (122 mm) in height with the standard magazine. Shooters with larger hands cannot fully grip the short frame - the pinky finger curls under the magazine floor plate. A +2 extension adds enough grip length for full four-finger engagement, which improves recoil control with the .45 ACP cartridge.

XTech Tactical G30/G29 Magazine Extension

The XTech Tactical G30/G29 magazine extension is a polymer extension that adds +2 rounds to the Glock 30 .45 ACP magazine for a total capacity of 12 rounds. The XTech extension is compatible with the Glock 30 (.45 ACP) and Glock 29 (10mm Auto) subcompact magazines. The extension includes a longer spring and an extended polymer floor plate. Customer reviews report reliable function through 500+ rounds with positive fit and finish.

The XTech G30 Mag Extension is also available in a California-compliant version (SKU: GL30-MAG-EXT-30-CA) for jurisdictions with 10-round magazine capacity limits.

XTech Mag-Adapt 30-13 Glock 30 Magazine Sleeve

The XTech Mag-Adapt 30-13 is a magazine sleeve adapter that allows a Glock 30 13-round .45 ACP magazine to function in the Glock 30 with a grip sleeve that fills the gap between the extended magazine and the subcompact grip frame. The Mag-Adapt sleeve provides a seamless grip surface when using the longer Glock 21 13-round magazine in the Glock 30 platform.

TTI Base Pads for Glock 30

Taran Tactical Innovations (TTI) manufactures +4 base pads for the Glock 21/41 .45 ACP OEM magazines that are compatible with the Glock 30. The TTI +4 base pad on a Glock 30 10-round magazine provides 14 rounds of .45 ACP. TTI base pads are machined from aluminum with anodized finishes in 10+ colors.

XTech Tactical manufactures magazine extensions for 5 additional Glock models:

  • G26 Mag Extension - 9mm subcompact +2
  • G19 Mag Extension - 9mm compact +2
  • G17 Mag Extension - 9mm full-size +2
  • G21 Mag Extension - .45 ACP full-size +2

Glock 30 Magazine Extension Installation

To install a Glock 30 magazine extension, remove the magazine from the pistol, press the floor plate retention tab with a punch tool, slide the factory floor plate off, remove the factory spring and follower, insert the extension's longer spring and follower, and slide the new base pad into place. Installation takes 2 to 5 minutes per magazine. No permanent modification to the magazine or firearm is required. The extension is reversible by reinstalling the factory floor plate and spring.
